I never thought of going out to look for them. We have a great spot that has tons of deer. I may need to get some rubber boots to get in there.

Yes! Antlers are the only thing that last. I suggest boiling them once in a whole. Keep the bacteria out.
Here in wonderful Ontario, if you go for a hike you mau find some hanging out in the bush 🙂 I came across a few hunter friends who ever so kindly gave me the antlers as they were merely interested in the deer meat.
i accepted and it’s been well over a year.
There are companies on line – great prices – pet smart is way too expensive ! And plus I find with our breed we want a nice huge chunk o’ antler.
