Rabbit….its what's for dinner

So spring in MN has FINALLY arrived and the neighborhood came alive yesterday.  Must have been about 20 neighborhood kids, 6 dogs and random neighbors hanging out in my yard.  I just love it.  Anyways, there is a wooded area behind one of my neighbors house that Jaeger LOVES to roam in.  Well, this is what he brought home with him yesterday to show everyone.  He was so proud of himself. Now I know weims have a high prey drive but I’ve never seen him in action. Looks like were having rabbit for dinner (jk).

He must be a really quick boy. Rabbits move pretty fast. And he just wanted to show every one his prize :).

You have no idea how fast he is.  It’s incredible!  I was definitely a proud mama! Especially when he brought it to me and layed it down at my feet.

    He looks so proud!!

We have a smaller fenced yard (chain link) and we have rabbits that live in the neighbors wood pile.  I let Cody out first thing this morning and he was tearing across the yard.  I went out later to thow his ball and there were tufts of rabbit fur everywhere.  I don’t think he got it but I’m sure the rabbit has some bald spots.  🙂

That looks like a good size rabbit, too!

Sorry, but poor bunny.  I sure hope there isn’t a nest of baby bunnies all alone, now.

Weims can be so quick. Athena crosses the yard in a few steps when she sees a squirrel. First squirrel she caught she let go. She was shocked herself that she had gotten it.

That’s better than the half-rotten-already-been-dead-for-numerous-days-rabbits Amos finds in the woods and insists on bringing home!

Good catch!  That’s a big one!  Its amazing how fast they are when they are on the hunt.
