In my experience, every dog does differently on different foods. While I would never feed anything that comes from a grocery store, not every dog does well on Orijen. For mine, it was too high fat/protein and he put on weight just by looking at it (even after drastically reducing the amount). He’s done better on the Acana (same company), the grain free varieties before I switched to raw.

It varies, I try to stick to limited/single ingredient grain free treats. Things like dried liver/lung, evo wild cravings, lakse kronch, real meat treats, bully sticks, tracheas, antlers, etc.

I use a product called Bio Skin and Coat by Biologic Vet, it has natural antihistamines, no sideeffects and its worked great for my other dogs seasonal/flea allergy.

Uno doesn’t seem to get fleas very often, if he does I dust him with diatomaceous earth and that seems to take care of it. He also get a flea bath maybe once a month during the summer. When we go hiking, I’ll rub him down with this spray called Natures Defense, which is actually made for horses. Just spray some on the paper towel and wipe him down, it keeps tick and gnats away.. Heartworm meds are tricky, since I live in a south, we have a lot of mosquitos here, and since I haven’t found an effective natural alternative yet, I just use generic ivermectin tablets, he only gets them 6 months out of a year since I watch the temperature and stop when it gets too cold for mosquitos to reproduce.
